My friend is suffering. There are events in their life that they can not control yet effect them. It makes them (and me) feel so helpless.

But that is not the end of the story because we have a mighty God! When we can do nothing about a situation… When we have nowhere else to turn… it forces us to look to the only one who can fix it, God.

God makes it clear what He wants us to do if we want to be delivered from our burdens and suffering: we must call on Him.

How do we call on Him when are suffering?

Easy! You just need to talk to him like an old friend. Sometimes you may shout or cry, whisper or even think. There is no right or wrong way.

If I have never prayed before… How can we know He will hear me?

Romans 10:12-13 tells us this:

…the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

What a beautiful thought. Nothing fancy. Nothing hard. No special equipment or clothing or building or anything needed. Just talk to him.

I don’t understand how this works… Will it still work for me?

YES! Like a child learning has to trust their parent and they look to them for guidance, so we must not expect to full understand but have trust that God want the best for us

Proverb 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

What do I do next? I think this sentence lays it out…

Proverb 3:6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

There are so many times when we just don’t know what to do but God has a plan for us. Don’t doubt it. He has a plan for you, yes you. What is it? Where is He leading you? Only time will tell.

That is all I have for today dear friends. I pray that through your suffering you will learn to trust God.
